On Sunday afternoon, April 1, 2012, faculty and friends of the West Chester University School of Music will perform the lucky 13th Annual Cat Angel Network Benefit Concert. The 3:00 p.m. event will be held in Madeleine Wing Adler Theatre in Swope Hall (817 South High St.) on the West Chester University Campus.

This year, we are excited to welcome the Kennett Symphony Children’s Chorus who will be performing a portion of the concert. Under the artistic direction of Dr. Kristen Albert, the KSCC has gained notoriety as a first rate ensemble. In addition, many faculty, students, and friends of the School of Music will lend their musical talents to ensure a very special event.

The concert is designed to be a fun-filled afternoon for the casual concert-goer. Bring your kids and friends! A reception will follow the event. While the concert is free and open to the public, donations will be appreciated. Contributions sent prior to the concert and received by March 26 will be acknowledged in the concert program at the following levels:

Lasagne Dinner Benefit – Update

lasagnecatThe Lasagna Dinner was a HUGE success! More than 225 dinners were sold, some adult and some children. The net profit for CAN was $2,195!! Needless to say, we are all overjoyed with the results, and VERY grateful to everyone who attended, purchased take-outs, and/or spread the word to their friends.

This was a recent fundraiser by the students at Montgomery County Community College whose guest of honor, Henry “Hank” Rymarowicz,  selected Cat Angel Network to be the beneficiary of all the proceeds. A special thanks to Lauren and her husband for arranging this, and to Hank for selecting CAN as beneficiary!

Students Hold Lasagna Dinner to Benefit Area Charity

Student leaders at the West Campus of Montgomery County Community College will host their 10th annual Lasagna Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 17 from 5-7 p.m. The dinner will be held in the South Hall Community Room at 101 College Drive in Pottstown. Take-out meals are also available starting at 4:30 p.m.

The dinner, which includes a choice of veggie or meat lasagna, salad, bread, beverage and dessert, costs $10 for adults and $5 for children age 10 and under. Meals can be pre-ordered Feb. 7-15 by contacting the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement at 610-718-1973 or jmeehan1@mc3.edu.

Each year, the students choose a person to honor at the dinner, and all proceeds go to a charity of the honoree’s choice. This year’s honoree is Henry “Hank” Rymarowicz from the College’s Facilities Management department, who has selected the Cat Angel Network, of Pottstown.

The Cat Angel Network works to alleviate the suffering of stray cats in a no-kill shelter while finding adoption placements in approved homes. To learn more about the organization, visit http://catangel.org.

An award presentation to Rymarowicz will take place at 6:15 p.m., and music will be provided throughout the dinner by the College’s Jazz Ensemble and Montco Jams. Representatives from the Cat Angel Network will be on hand to provide information about their organization.

Previous beneficiaries of the Lasagna Dinner have included the United Way, Barth Elementary School, Reach One Touch One Ministries, Pottstown Downtown Foundation, Pottstown Library Children’s Department, Relay for Life, Family Services of Montgomery County and scholarship funds through the College’s Foundation.

For more information about the Lasagna Dinner, call 610-718-1973 or email jmeehan1@mc3.edu
