TIMMY, a very handsome all black male kitty, was born in June 2008 (please see his individual photos and video). When rescued as a tiny kitten it was noted by the veterinarian that Timmy had a neurological disorder called cerebellar hypoplasia, which means he is wobbly when he walks. Cerebellar hypoplasia is very similar to cerebral palsy in humans. Timmy was adopted as a young kitten by a wonderful family who looked past his disability, saw what he was able to do, and saw what a wonderful kitty he was. He lived with his new family for approximately three years until shortly after their second child was born with a debilitating illness of her own. Unable to care for both a disabled child and cat, Timmy was returned to Cat Angel Network in the summer of 2011 and lived in a foster home where there was someone available during the day to tend to his needs. Unfortunately as a result of sudden divorce between Timmy’s foster parents, Timmy is now in a new foster home. To see Timmy and to interact with Timmy is to fall in love with Timmy. He is the sweetest, most loveable kitty around. Other than the challenges he faces as a result of his condition, he is happy and healthy. His wonderful personality and spirit are clear signs of a cat grateful for the life he has and for the Cat Angel volunteers who love him so much. Although he has limited control of his back legs, with the accommodation of carpeting or a rug, Timmy is able to stand up and walk from one point to another so that he can eat, drink, or cuddle close to another kitty. He will navigate around the room, particularly if it means getting close to someone who will gently pat his head and spend time with him. Upon entering Timmy’s room, you will find a sweet kitty who immediately pulls himself up and walks as best he can to greet you – and oh, does he love to greet you! His face seems to light up when he sees you. As a result of his mobility problem, Timmy must have two things: carpeting to aid him in walking; and help getting in and out of a litter box. Are you that special person who can care for Timmy so he may continue to live the happy and fulfilling life that he so deserves? Timmy is neutered, tested negative for FIV / FeLV and is current on all required vaccinations.
