Monty

MontyMay10So it’s been a week now.  Monty is adjusting and making himself at home (as you’ll see from the attached pics).  He & Bear (our 9 1/2 yr old Black Lab) have met a couple of times & while they’re not taking naps together yet (lol), they will co-exist in the same room (Monty on the steps & Bear on the floor).

Monty is full of surprises.  He didn’t make a peep for 3 days, now he won’t stop talking…the minute we are out of sight, he starts chirping & meowing. And speaking of three days…we put fencing up to relegate him to the upstairs hall & bath for his first couple of days here.  Tuesday morning he decided he wanted to follow Frank to the shower & voomp…over the fence he went (took that down Tuesday eve)…we were actually surprised it lasted that long.  And – I guess he likes the toys we have, cause he plays himself into a frenzy sometimes (little fur mice & a birdie that makes noises).

He has scoped out all the favorite spots Dusty & Ashes used to lay…on the steps, the rocker in the loft & the dining room chairs.  He is eating well, using his litter box & his scratching post.  He’s not hip on being held, but that’s ok – he loves his pets!  You weren’t kidding when you said he was affectionate.  : )

Just wanted to give you another update – so far….so good.   Already thinking about maybe 4-6 months down the road, looking into getting him a girlie friend to keep him company while we’re at work.
